Death Reconciliation Therapy™

Make peace with what was...

DRT™ is not only about death. It is about identity. Fear. Loss. Change. The body. The nervous system. Relationships. Meaning. Spiritual connection. Trust. Faith. And the parts of ourselves we sometimes lose contact with while simply trying to survive what life has asked us to carry.

This work was born from a simple understanding:

How we relate to death profoundly shapes how we live.

Reconciliation means making peace.

There are many deaths within a lifetime—the death of relationships, identities, dreams, expectations, former versions of ourselves and chapters we thought would last forever.

Reconciliation allows us to honour what was, understand what remains.

Not forgetting. Not pretending something didn't hurt. Not forcing forgiveness.

Not bypassing grief with positivity or spirituality.

And not convincing yourself that everything happens for a reason.

The goal is not a life without pain.

The goal is a life no longer governed by fear of it.

Drawing from 30 years of experience across healthcare, palliative and end-of-life care, psychology, Ayurveda, bodywork, restorative healing, trauma-informed practices and spiritual care, Death Reconciliation Therapy™ was born as an integrative method that brings these disciplines together into one private healing experience.

Rather than treating the mind, body and spirit as separate, DRT™ works with the whole person.

The intention is not simply to help you feel better. It is to help you come home to yourself.

You do not need to be facing death to begin Death Reconciliation Therapy.

Who Is This For?

If you are:

  • Living with anxiety or fear surrounding death or dying.
  • Grieving someone you love, whether the loss happened recently or many years ago.
  • Caring for someone living with serious or life-limiting illness.
  • Facing your own diagnosis, illness or significant life transition.
  • Experiencing anticipatory grief.
  • Feeling emotionally stuck after a loss or difficult chapter.
  • Carrying regret, guilt, unresolved relationships or unfinished conversations.
  • Struggling to trust yourself, life or what comes next.
  • Feeling disconnected from your body, intuition or spiritual life.
  • Questioning your identity, purpose or direction.
  • Moving through a major transition and realizing the person you once were no longer fits.
  • Longing for a deeper connection to faith, meaning or something greater than yourself.
  • Ready to understand yourself beyond the roles, expectations and experiences that have shaped you.
  • Seeking a more conscious and peaceful relationship with mortality so you can live more intentionally.

The DRT Method™

Death Reconciliation Therapy™ is not a single technique. It is an integrative healing methodology that brings together the modalities I have studied, practiced and refined throughout my life's work. It asks What does this person need in order to move toward greater connection, trust and peace?

Your experience may draw from:

Psychology-Informed Therapeutic Conversation. Exploring grief, fear, identity, relationships, beliefs, emotional patterns, regret and the experiences that continue to shape how you see yourself and your life.

Ayurvedic Healing. Understanding your individual constitution, current imbalances, nervous system, routines, nourishment and the ways your physical and emotional health influence one another.

Somatic & Ayurvedic Bodywork. Practices such as Abhyanga, Shirodhara and individualized therapeutic bodywork may be incorporated when appropriate to support grounding, relaxation and embodied awareness.

Restorative & Nervous System Practices. Breathwork, restorative practices, meditation, sensory therapies and intentional rest help create the internal conditions for deeper reflection and integration.

Energy & Chakra Work. Subtle-body practices may be incorporated for clients who wish to explore energetic awareness, balance and their relationship with intuition.

Grief & Death Education. Understanding grief, dying, anticipatory grief and mortality can reduce some of the fear created by uncertainty and the unknown.

Spiritual Exploration. For those who desire it, sessions can create space to explore faith, meaning, mortality, intuition, spiritual connection and your personal understanding of what exists beyond the physical.

Ritual & Sacred Practice. Personalized rituals, reflection, journaling, meditation and sacred practices can help give meaning to experiences that words alone cannot always hold.

Legacy & Life Review. Looking at the life you have lived, the relationships that shaped you, what remains unfinished and what you want the next chapter of your life—or your legacy—to represent. These are not separate services added together.

They become one therapeutic experience. That is the foundation of Death Reconciliation Therapy™.

What You May Discover

DRT™ is not about becoming a different person. Often, it is about removing enough fear, noise, expectation and unresolved pain to recognize the person who has been there all along.

Through this work, you may begin to experience:

A deeper understanding of yourself.

Greater emotional awareness and self-compassion.

More ease within your body.

A different relationship with fear and uncertainty.

Greater capacity to be present with grief.

Increased trust in yourself and your inner knowing.

A clearer understanding of what truly matters to you.

Greater connection to purpose and meaning.

A more personal relationship with spirituality or faith.

Courage to have conversations you have been avoiding.

Greater acceptance of what cannot be changed.

A renewed appreciation for the life that is happening now.

DRT™ does not promise that you will never experience grief, fear or uncertainty again.

It offers something more sustainable:  A different way of meeting them.

That is reconciliation.

You do not have to arrive fearless.

You do not have to know what you believe.

You do not need to have the right words.

You simply have to be willing to begin.

The Skylit Ayurveda Difference

This is not a group program or standardized wellness package.

Death Reconciliation Therapy™ represents the culmination of more than three decades of walking beside people through illness, caregiving, healing, grief, transition and end of life. My earliest experiences began in healthcare, long-term care and palliative settings.

Over the years, that foundation expanded into psychology, Ayurveda, yoga therapy, trauma-informed care, restorative healing, energy work, Ayurvedic bodywork, spiritual exploration, death doula support and thousands of private client sessions. Eventually I realized these were never separate bodies of work. They were different doorways into the same human experience.

Every DRT™ journey is private. Every treatment is individualized. Every story is held with discretion, compassion and respect.

Testimonials

I would be honoured to walk alongside you

After spending decades beside hospital beds, in palliative care, and supporting individuals and families through profound moments of transition, one truth continues to guide my work:

Death is not the opposite of life.

It is one of life's greatest teachers.

When we begin to reconcile our relationship with endings, something remarkable happens. We become more present. More intentional. More grateful. We stop postponing the conversations that matter and begin living with a deeper awareness of what truly deserves our attention.

Death Reconciliation Therapy is not about preparing for the end.

It is about helping you experience more peace, more presence and more life today.

~ with love

Chandra
